What we do

Village Seed land is 15 acres of diverse topography with mixed forests of towering Cedars, Big Leaf Maples, Alders, Firs, and three distinct wetlands and a year-round stream, once a rearing habitat for coho Salmon (and with some work can be again!). The land is very private and is located at an ‘end-of-the-road’ drive. We are surrounded by wetlands and forests to the west and north, a young but growing forest to the east, and mostly open meadows to the south. We are mindfully opening up areas to allow more sun in, and to prep pads for mobile homes and future building sites.

We bought the land in 2021 with an LLC to allow multiple member-owners. We have created a structure that allows a “rent-to-own” scenario, so low-income folks can co-own land together. We currently have 7 adults, a pond full of frogs and a good-sized garden. We currently meet weekly to discuss living-together matters, projects, etc.

The vision is to create a health balance of personal and common spaces, to grow food and provide educational opportunities. We envision member owners building their own, modest sized dwellings in different places on the land, as well as a common house, a workshop, a self-care area and event space. We have a few camp sites for guests and currently have room for mobile homes.

Much more could be said. We are open to getting to know potential future Members and supporters. If you’d like to reach out and inquire, please give an introduction about yourself. We receive many messages and prefer to respond to serious and thoughtful inquires.

Our Vision

Village Seed is a community devoted to the co-creation of a culture that supports the tending of our relationships to self, each other, and the more-than-human world. By integrating ancient and current technologies of belonging such as song, dance, permaculture, ritual, play, and various therapeutic modalities, we remember and reimagine how to be at home in the divine web of creation. In collaboration with other regional change-makers, we aspire to nurture a more emotionally and ecologically resilient world
