What we do

Overlooking Parsons Bay in Nubeena, on the stunningly beautiful Tasman Peninsula, our 23 acre property is being transformed into a modern, sustainable and affordable community. We are re-purposing a 1970s motel and are fortunate to have inherited several lovely community spaces – a large kitchen, common room, recreation room, tennis courts and a barbeque area. The land is undulating with diverse natural features.
Just an hour and twenty minutes from Tasmania’s capital city, Hobart, we are surrounded by beaches, forest and magnificent scenery. We are five minutes walk from the centre of Nubeena, where there are many services such as the district school, police and emergency services, doctor, chemist, bank, post office, supermarket and a tavern. We have a vision of a way of life that :

â—Ź affirms our understanding that we are an integral part of nature, respects all beings, and treads more lightly on the Earth,
â—Ź acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land and the rich diversity of our own ancestral histories,
â—Ź is resilient and able to adapt to a changing world,
â—Ź is sustainable ecologically, socially and economically,
â—Ź is developing efficient, sustainable and locally-based systems for food, water and energy,
â—Ź is cooperative and mutually supportive,
â—Ź has decision-making and group processes which promote harmony,
â—Ź encourages a focus on relationship and inner peace,
â—Ź provides a safe, loving environment where everyone flourishes and is nurtured,
â—Ź is a vibrant hub of community arts and crafts,
â—Ź is fully engaged with the larger community of which it is a part, and
â—Ź is a place of healing, training and education

Permaculture Community Opportunity

Welcome to Havn Hill and Discovery Culture, a serene and sustainable retreat center nestled in the rainshadow of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. This organic, ecological, permaculture-based retreat center and farm is a sanctuary for individuals looking to reconnect with the rhythms of the natural world. We are a tiny house permaculture homestead and community. Recently we have become a retreat center hosting the public. We are blessed to steward an amazing 10 acres with second growth forest and 2 year round streams. We do forestry, orcharding, poultry raising, gardening, superfood production, maple tapping, nursery work, herb growing, and park like landscaping. We host community here in various forms. We are strong entrepreneurs manifesting ways to generate abundance. We are very connected to our incredible regional community and often host events like apple pressing and cider production. Lots of projects are underway and planned for the future. The most recent one came to a conclusion last autumn. It is a stunning eco-conscious community bath house, complete with a wood fired sauna and ozone hot tub. Next up on our agenda is a tropical greenhouse and wood yurt temple and yoga deck. Nestled within the lush landscapes of Washington State, our organic, ecological retreat center stands as a testament to the harmonious coexistence between nature and human endeavor. Embracing the principles of permaculture, our haven is a sanctuary where sustainability, mindfulness, and ecological stewardship converge to create a unique and rejuvenating experience. We have a 2 story large tiny house for sale on our property. It is complete with a large cedar deck boasting a great view. It is hooked up to our septic system, electrical, internet, and well water. It was built 1.5 years ago on site using German building science and materials, metal framing, a tiny house chassis, and local woods. 3 large skylights in the ceiling are amazing. The bath room is spacious and boasts
