About the Community

What we do

Struggle Mountain is an intentional community that has existed since the 1960s. It was named by Joan Baez when she lived here. After renting for most of a decade, it was bought by the community in 1976. This intentional community evolved out of the sixties’ counterculture and, most particularly, nonviolence and the draft resistance movement.
