We are:
-An organic & biodynamic farm growing & selling organic produce, herbs, breads, fermented foods, meat and much more. We raise/produce much of our own foods, including meat, dairy, eggs, veggies & more. We run a farm share and herd share.
-A Non profit 19th century village, complete with weaving mill, one-room school, blacksmith shop, tin shop, letterpress print shop, bakery, rope/broom shop, wagon & wheel shop, Gen’l Store and much more. We welcome folks to take over and run a shop, become proficient, teach others and generate self income.
-A school; We teach classes on many heritage skills; survival/homesteading, soap, candle, cheese & butter making, wild plant use & more. We run a farm school for homeschool children 2 days a week.
We have 2 cabins open. Outhouse, outside wash house, wood cookstove & nearby additional pavillion. Cabin has limited electricity. We have a foundation for a yurt, and have a very large teepee. Other cabins or living space can be built as needed.
We are looking for people who want to learn by doing and people with knowledge or willingness to work in any shop of your choosing and possibly teach the skill of their choice.
We especially appreciate help with all the everyday farm chores including gardening, hauling manure/woodchips/grass clippings, animal care, cow milking & other informative & fun stuff.
We’d like someone who enjoys children, as many are often here and we have 6 of our own, and someone willing to help with childcare.
We offer a full work for living trade. No money exchanged. We make quite tasty wines, but very rarely consume it. …and never to excess. We have no interest in drama or negative thinking.
You’re welcome to garden & pasture space to raise your own food. We are not looking for city people who want an adventure. We are looking for people that want to be prepared, want to live sustainably, like to work hard and enjoy life in the country.
We’re spiritual, but non ‘religious’. We honor the Nature Spirits and Fairies. We try to live in ways compatible with how Great Mystery would have us live. We are believers in & practitioners of manifestation. We honor the season changes & have Ceremony as we are moved. We also enjoy Christian church.
We have been taught Original People’s Ancient Traditional Wisdom & Prophesy (mostly by Seneca & Lakota Elders) & will share such (as it was shared w/. us) as we grow to know one another.
We’ve had as many as 14 people living here during the summer. Currently our family of 8 (kids 16, 13, 11, 9, 6 & 1) and three other seasonal adults are here. Others visit daily, and it is rare to eat a meal alone.
Honoring traditional living and staying in flow.
