UPDATES, 2022, No vacancies otherr than camp sites during the growing season.
Bamboo Gardens is a small, private farm, consisting of a 2 bedroom mobile, a large wooden barn/studio, a large adjoining greenhouse and 2 sheds on one acre partially wooded setting in rural NW RI. Currently the owner, myself, is semi retired as a working musician, artist, and bamboo farmer who loves animals, raising exotic, silkie, chinese chickens, bamboo farming, biking, camping , and practicing ancient, sacred, healing music. I am hoping to develop bamboo farm and gardens into a small intentional community focused on sharing the gardens, greenhouse, and the rest of the farm while also providing zen spaces for yoga, mediation and the practice of sacred, ancient healing music mantras. The greenhouse, barn studio, bamboo, food and gardens are arranged and shared and enjoyed together and usually include the animals, together, in harmony and community…except for the aggressive roos, who have their own spaces.
This little farm is an organic, permaculture design, in progress, but in great need of care and development.
Currently, renting just a room or other space and sharing common areas is an option, and there is space on the land for a camper or van as a temporary or seasonal option for folks who want to contribute to the farms needs and development. The focus for long term community members is the opportunity to practice sharing both homesteading, prepping, permaculture farming along with yoga, and other healing arts, such as nature meditation and sacred music practice. I have the ability to be flexible in working out and arrangement, as my goal is simply to create community around sharing this nice little woodsy farm. Its a small place, but I am unable to keep up with the work, myself. There is a lot to do with bamboo harvest and processing as well as taking care of the gardens, chickens and greenhouse, which is a lot to do, and at my age, now I am more interested in spending more time enjoying retirement, time with family and traveling.
Rent would be based the amount of labor contribution, and the setting desired, such as renting entire house, or just a room, or a campsite, up to 3 seasons… There is land that can be cleared, and room for many new projects, as desired or needed. Minimally, what is needed, is simply maintenance chores including: caring the yard/gardens/greenhouse/ etc..As noted, earlier, bartering is always negotiable. I would also consider a rental arrangement, a rent to own option, or rent of only part of property itself.
This community is developed to respect and support peaceful, natural shared living and loving of a life in harmony with the surrounding natural environment, animals, sacred healing music, with gardening, herb crafting, bamboo farming, etc… I would love to sell/rent this entire place to folks who want to enhance the natural wooded, zen setting….as also a sacred space to enjoy the care of a healthy, sustainable, shared homesteading and permaculture farm…However, I am also open to just rent or barter a portion of the outside space, or a room inside to like minded folks who may just want live at a place where they can help with any part of maintaining a permaculture farm.
