What we do

Rosewater Ranch Ecovillage is a newly forming intentional community located 30 minutes north from Reno, NV.  Nestled where the high desert meets the forest in the beautiful Long Valley.

Our 135 acre plot includes 1.5 acres of various gardens, ~30 goats, many chickens, a market-garden farm, an edible mushroom operation, a seasonal creek, a large pond, pasture land, and a majority of the land kept wild and undeveloped.

The property boundary connects to the National Forest and is rich with walking trails, native fauna and flora, flowing creeks, and beauty to behold and respect.

Since March 2023, a group of seven friends and residents of the land began to dream of a village to call home here and to steward something beautiful for the generations after them.

Currently there is a large central house which has been inhabited for 10+ years which houses 5 of the residents on the land, and a tiny home. In the scope of our project, these are temporary dwellings with the vision of us all moving into the newly built co-housing space that will be on the land.

We have currently got a site plan, and our underway in drawing up private homes, community house, a bath house, a new barn, and hope with the addition of new people, we will be underway with construction by 2025, with move in 2027.

Soon RWR will be breaking ground for this carefully tended seed, and are currently welcoming in more folks to build the village.
