Welcome to Havn Hill and Discovery Culture, a serene and sustainable retreat center nestled in the rainshadow of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. This organic, ecological, permaculture-based retreat center and farm is a sanctuary for individuals looking to reconnect with the rhythms of the natural world. We are a tiny house permaculture homestead and community. Recently we have become a retreat center hosting the public. We are blessed to steward an amazing 10 acres with second growth forest and 2 year round streams. We do forestry, orcharding, poultry raising, gardening, superfood production, maple tapping, nursery work, herb growing, and park like landscaping. We host community here in various forms. We are strong entrepreneurs manifesting ways to generate abundance. We are very connected to our incredible regional community and often host events like apple pressing and cider production. Lots of projects are underway and planned for the future. The most recent one came to a conclusion last autumn. It is a stunning eco-conscious community bath house, complete with a wood fired sauna and ozone hot tub. Next up on our agenda is a tropical greenhouse and wood yurt temple and yoga deck. Located on 7.5 acres (3 hectares) of land, with 10 fully-furnished one-bedroom housing units, a 3 bedroom/2 bath house attached to the main lodge, an inifinity pool, a 2500 sq ft wellness center, spa facility and breathtaking yoga studio, and main lodge with industrial kitchen complete with appliances, dishes, and utensils. Below the lobby is a spacious laundry and storage facility for housekeeping. With a comfortably furnished lounge area and activity room and dining balcony overlooking the breathtaking jungle, this property provides a move-in-ready start for a sustainable co-housing community. The wellness center features 4 bedroom-sized spaces (can also be offices, treatment/ meeting rooms) and 2 bathrooms on the lower level; and an expansive, open-air octagonal teak wood yoga studio space with durable Palmex roof and rain shades, plus kitchen and storage on the upper level. You can harvest up to 200kg per year of organic tumeric and ginger. Along the jungle trails down to the creek bordering the property, you’ll find a re-forested area of 600+ semi-hardwood Pochote trees (quite valuable!) and other diverse flora in abundance. Greetings Homestead / EcoVillage seeker! We live on 4 acres in Washington Co. near Jonesborough TN within a 2 bedroom,2 bath personal home(West Wing) that has an attached/seperate fully functional 3 bedroom, 1 bath house (East Wing) with its own kitchen and laundry available for rent. Rental also has private back porch & patio. No common doorway between both homes. They both have separate entrances with a shared front porch, yard, and garden space as well as a common driveway. The homes are separated by a double~wall and both have separate side yards as well as parking areas. Rental house has modern appliances, hvac mini-split units , with a nostalgic working wood stove for added heat and cooking capabilities. Rental home has great view of wooded area with lots of privacy, peaceful setting, and forest animals passing by. I am working on property sustainability projects as time, material, labor and money allows but welcome a homestead seeker with references, good character, some building or property development skills but most importantly a willingness to assist us with this sustainable community project. We have not established an Intentional Community model but prefer a consensus or Board operating framework if idea is to be considered. My husband and I are seeking people to join us in forming an intentional community or cohousing group, committed to values of sustainability, sharing and “enoughness”. We cannot afford to buy a $600,000 house, nor do we wish to only be among others who can afford that.
