What we do

– About us: Whether you call it an “intentional community”, “co-op”, or “a big house”, we’re a bunch of people who share at least one value: we like living together. We generally share a love of nature, love of self-development, and enthusiasm about group activities (cooking, dance parties, jamming in the living room, movie nights, hikes)–though a fair number of us are more introverted. We have some basic community guidelines which can be boiled down to “pick up after yourself, help care for our community (that is, the house and the people), and respect one another.” The house is also very international and LGBTQ friendly.

– Rent & fees: Month-to-month lease. No deposit. Rent is $850. We also pay $335 per month to a collectively-managed “community fund”, which is used to pay for all house groceries, utilities, and miscellaneous home projects. This means that your internet/electricity/water/trash would be covered, as well as most/all groceries (the house typically doesn’t pay for alcohol or specialty items like $40 steaks, but does pay for pretty much anything you’d eat in an average week.)

– Bedroom/bathroom situation: We live in shared rooms, each of which have a private bathroom (each has a shower). Our current smallest room is a double [not currently available]. The largest has a few bunk beds. You’re welcome to move into whichever bed is available! Currently we have both top and bottom bunks available.

– Amenities / House: Single story, four bedroom, five bathroom home on Edgewood Road. We have a fully-equipped kitchen (gas stove), washer/dryer, three large communal rooms with TVs, musical instruments, reading and working areas, and a spacious backyard. The backyard features a pool, hot tub, fire pit and oven, and sauna (inside a detached guest room). We also have a home gym area and workshop.

– Parking / Bike Storage: Parking is limited to one car per resident, and we sometimes need to park on a nearby street. Bike storage is available, preferably for one bike per resident (but talk to us if you have multiple!)

– Privacy / Quiet space: Despite having many residents, the house is generally quiet and is large enough that if you find something/someone distracting, you’ll have no trouble finding a nice quiet spot–We’re also all very open with one another about our needs (“Would you mind using headphones while you practice piano?”). As far as overnight guests–family members, significant other, friends–we all have access to a private room and any housemate can reserve it for themselves when they’d like (poolhouse, pictured).

– Allergens / Pets / Smoking: We have one outdoor cat, but surely her little cat germs get inside. No indoor smoking.

– Next steps: Apply on this link [https://forms.gle/2aHzeG3n2WuDvCV1A] or contact us directly. We’ll reach out within the next 1-3 days to schedule a virtual meet-and-greet (we typically try to meet an applicant within 5-10 days of them applying.) If things feel like a good fit, you’re welcome to move in whenever it is convenient
