About the Community

What we do

PuraFruta has evolved from a vision that we humans must be able to create a simpler, healthier, more spiritually connected life for ourselves. A life which nourishes our spirits, our souls and our hearts and gives back to the nature and wild beings around us: not takes all and destroys, thinking of the planet as a resource but lives in harmony, sharing the planet and accepting our advanced role as care-takers of this beautiful planet. In our project vision we aim to: – help each other to grow together in profound respect to ourselves, each other and Mother Earth. – create a caring, safe environment free from intentional suffering or killing, consumption of drugs, chemicals or harmful products for our bodies or the environment. – engage in setting up a permaculture based fruit forest, to create food self-sufficiency in the shortest time possible. – co-create with Nature a place where we can live in harmony and simplicity. – become an example of how to live in a truly sustainable way. We are bringing our vision to life through sharing sessions of our emotions and challenges; our passions and knowledge; through work-playing together, caring for each other and supporting each other through our stages of growth. Skills we like to share include; Vegan Raw and Fruitarian diet, Yoga, Meditation, NVC, Permaculture, Agro Forestry, Detox techniques, Simple Natural living, Socioeconomics, Song sharing and many others. The community land is accessed across a river, at rainy times it can be impossible to cross, we are currently working on a solution to this and at present the vision is to build a suspended bridge. Once built this will lead to a dirt road which will connect small individual lots (approximately 45 meters) for constructing low impact residences, such a roofed platform or small house. Resting on the side of a hill overlooking the main valley and the jungle, these ulots look down on the (already beginning) fruit forest and planned gardens in the lower valley. Our grand community vision includes the construction of a retreat center, nature jungle trail and creek-side trails, pond, playground, community buildings such as a school, meditation and yoga platform, office space, laundry and storage for sensitive equipment, volunteers huts, and more. Our vision will grow, as the community grows and this will decide what we need in our lives.

Our Mission

To re-create our natural habitat as a tribe of well detoxified and reconstructed family members; grow our own tropical foods using fruit forest permaculture techniques; live an exemplary nonviolent life through our language, spirituality, and food choices, while educating and healing others to help all living beings to become free and fulfilled.
