We are designing a 7.4 acre mixed housing and farm land in Winston Salem.
Opportunities in 2026 include a Land Steward program, community events, designing the financial/legal structure collaborative meetings. Land subdivision and permitting is a work in progress, but the concept drawings and vision board are available to see here: https://www.olamina.homes/welcome-home
We are looking for founders to become co-designers of the village, or even those working on their own vision who want to collaborate. Land and housing costs in the Triad area are reasonable (compared to other coastal regions) and local code allows for “missing middle” housing like cottage courts and accessory dwelling units.
Vision is evolving as we find community members, and this is foundational:
Individuals committed to a balance of autonomy and collaboration
Mixed age and backgrounds
Spritual practice and personal growth are foundational to the mindset of this particular co-housing. No specific religion or practice is prescribed, but the desire is to live in community with others who are committed to personal accountability, clear communication and mutual aid as shared life purpose.
Hybrid (and emerging) decision-making approaches that balance majority rule with consensus where critical.
Equity-focused pricing models that include equal exchange for labor, expertise, and financial investment.
Land and build out includes shared amenities & assets that will help residents generate revenue, save money, and have an overall improved quality of life.

Members with pre-existing debt: Yes
We are following a fairly traditional housing model to start, with plans to develop resources on the land that can be part of individual member’s economy – which could be an art space, event space, etc.
Within city limits with access to urban amenities and infrastructure.
