What we do

Oconuco Zuimaco (OZ) means Mountain Farm, Spirit of Mother Earth (In Taíno). It’s name (and acronym) encapsulate our mission and vision: an Intentional ecological farm community guided by the spirit of Mother Earth and a magical place (OZ) (Like the Wizard of Oz ). Oconuco Zuimaco, where all who inhabit strive to live in harmony with the cosmos and each other, with exuberant hopes that all who visit leave with a magic seed sown in their hearts, and that this seed inspires positive changes towards a better world.

Our Mission

Mission: To build consciousness and community through permaculture and sustainable practices in harmony with mother earth and the universal and spiritual laws of love and light, offering holistic opportunities that guide towards a new humanity and sustainable future. Focus: Universal values, commitment to spirituality, working in harmony as one humanity with mother earth, inspiring all to practice permaculture and spirituality.

How to join

After experiencing living in several intentional communities, and research, wisdom acquired led to prioritizing the creation of a tentative member manual. This very detailed and structured manual’s purpose is to assist new potential members in having a clearer understanding of the communities focus, values and priorities. There is an extensive multi-step approval process to become an official member. This is to ensure that potential members are truly compatible with what is intended with OZ, and a smoother transition if they truly are.

Members contribute a percentage of income to community funds.
