What we do

We are an Intentional Christian Community. We have been living and working in our neighborhood east of prospect for the last five years now. We recently purchased a house, which we are currently renovating. Our house has six bedrooms and we have plans to add two more.

Our common life includes morning prayer, community meals, and community work days, which right now mostly consists of working on our house. However we also have a large community garden that we share with eight neighborhood families. We have over forty plots, a fruit orchard with 26 fruit trees, chickens, and one turkey.

Our ministry right now focuses on reconciliation and hospitality. Putting it simply our work involves creating spaces for neighbors to connect and share life with one another, via the community garden, and neighborhood potlucks. We also try to welcome neighbors into our home for dinner as often as we are able. We have an intimate relationship with a local congregation two blocks from our house. We worship alongside this congregation on Sundays. We hope to eventually have two rooms in our new home that can be used for temporary shelter for neighbors who need a place to stay.

In august we should have two rooms available, that we would like to offer to anyone who is interested in spending a season in Intentional Christian Community, or for someone who is searching out a long-term calling towards Christian Community.

More info: we are located in the historic east side, maybe a mile and a half east of the plaza. We all work part time jobs, so we have time to work/spend time in the neighborhood. We love cooking, playing music, games, dancing, and sitting on the porch. Those interested must love kids, there are lots of kids, everywhere.
