What we do

The Forest Ridge Community is located 65 mi SW of Nashville, TN, 7 mi from Hohenwald adjacent to a state forest. The land was bought in 2024. Approx. 6 ac are open and grassy and 14 ac are mixed forest mostly with younger trees. There are no building or logging restrictions here and another 5 ac could be easily cleared in a valley and a slight southern slope. A large Tiny House, a tiny Tiny, well, barn with workshop, storage container, ground shelter and a large Solar System are completed. Individuals can low cost lease to own the parcel they like or whatever we want to agree on. With 5 – 9 – or? people planed we can have more Tiny Houses (custom build by the Amish nearby) or whatever houses we like. More Solar equipment is already on the property. We build raised beds for organic permaculture and a greenhouse, plant more fruit trees. We will have chicken, maybe goats. Forest Ridge is a vegetarian community where no animals get slaughtered on the property other than in an emergency. But individuals can bring meat in for their own consumption. We strive for self sustaining with food and energy as far as reasonable.                                             We have friendly and helpful neighbors about a mile from us, which have springs on their properties. After basic buildings, raised beds, greenhouse are completed I envision building earth dome houses, similar to hobbit houses. Maybe having a zip line to the lower valley, building a tree house and other fun projects. Starting the Cities of the Spheres project ??                                                           We share meals, campfires, singing, story telling, visualization/meditation, circle meetings focusing on positive solutions, invite friends, connect with other communities – all as we like it.

True North CoHousing Community Seeking Founders

True North is a small, women-centered intentional community where self-directed, purposeful women share space, resources, and genuine commitment to each other’s wellbeing. We are building something that is greater than the sum of its parts — a life that is richer, more secure, and more meaningful because we are living it together. Our Vision A community where no one falls through the cracks. Where aging is something we navigate together rather than alone. Where the people around you notice when you’re struggling, celebrate when you’re thriving, and show up — not because they have to, but because that’s simply who we are to each other. We are building this as a tiny house village — a model we chose deliberately. Many intentional communities require crazy buy-in sums, putting them out of reach for most women navigating life on a single income. We believe that financial accessibility isn’t a compromise — it’s a value. Your home will be yours: as simple or as appointed as fits your life and circumstances, sized right for the life you are living now and the one you are building toward. We live lightly on the land and invest heavily in the relationships that make life worth living. We’re currently forming our founding group — the women who will help shape what this community becomes, where it lands, and how it lives. Not ready to be a founder but feel this in your gut? We want to hear from you too. There’s a place for you here at whatever stage feels right. https://www.truenorthcommunity.info/ [email protected]
