Fiddlehead Commons is forming a multigenerational cohousing community of 15-25 households in the picturesque and friendly town of Almonte, in southeastern Ontario. We’re planning a 2- to 3-story complex of units surrounding a common courtyard with a mid-sized common house and a vegetable garden, within walking distance of the town’s downtown. Since we aim to include 30% young families and first-time buyers, our unit costs will remain within the mortgage limits of these buyers. We’re working with Ottawa Cohousing to keep our project focused and to ensure our goals remain realistic for our cost limits. Ottawa Cohousing will oversee the design phases and connect us to a developer to manage the construction.
