About the Community

What we do

Familia Feliz is a decentralized living community with shared economy. Decentralized means those people live together who want to do so. The community does not dictate where a member should live or that all members have to live in one place at all times. Instead, it is part of the concept of Familia Feliz to live in different countries and different places. We start in Spain and Germany as these are the countries we already live and call our homes. Our community life is based on a shared economy, decisions by consensus, veto for each and solidarity with each member. We respect and develop private property and focus on life in peace and freedom. Familia Feliz is organized in units. A unit can be a working unit like “bio garden” or a company run by members, as well as a a home unit, a group of members living in one house.

Our Mission

One main mission is to create a contemporary version of community structure, which implies sustainability, international exchange (we speak Spanish, English, German, French) and socio-cultural projects like our colour garden (featured by UNESCO) and several activities around art. The focus also is on establishing ways of self-supply (bio garden, fruit farming). (Update 2023) We are also involved in contemporary art, bioconstruction, permaculture (on a small scale). In addition, we keep bees and chickens for self-sufficiency and for donation/exchange with other local food producers.
