What we do

Eco-Village Sol will portray and represent a new way of living, a place to heal, grow and re-awaken deeper aspects of ourselves which we have forgotten and lost in the frantic and hectic pace of our industrialized world.
This will be a whimsical, creative and spontaneous journey; an intense unfolding of what it feels like to be alive, connected and nurturing towards our individual selves, other animals and the fragile ecosystem in which we reside.

Volunteers
If you sympathize with the vision of Eco-Village Sol you can be valuable for the creation of the community. Please contact us. You don’t need to be an expert, because we believe that everyone has a passion that can be of use to Eco-Village Sol.

Development update
At the moment we have 4 acre of land where we are doing mostly agriculture. We are also building lodges and doing much more activity at that location. In the meantime we are seeking a larger land for the creation of Eco-Village Sol.
Creating our own food is very important and there is much work to do. We really need much more hands to help.
In our environment you can learn how to work in harmony with nature, the tropical environment, sacred geometry, etc.
We are in the process of building a kitchen now.

The location is in the east of Curacao. This area is full of development. There are more agricultural lands, an ostrich farm, an Aloe farm, etc.

St. George’s Bay is close to where kitesurfing lessons are given. About 15 minutes from the town center and entertainment venues.

Activities include:
– Agricultural activities.
– Construction of a Tiny house for volunteers and other structures like a mobile chicken coop.
– We work with geometric shapes, so the structures being built are a challenge but a great way to learn more about this concept.
– Water management is an important task at the project because of challenging weather conditions we aim to collect every raindrop and hold it in either the soil or for our daily usage.

The most important for us is that you can feel free.

Don’t hesitate to ask if you have more questions

2 small bedroom cabins available in Aptos Beloved Community - open to work trade

Aptos Beloved Community is an emerging multicultural ecovillage in the early stages of formation. Our guiding mission is to co-create a flourishing world for all as a friendly living laboratory in Earth Reverence, Personal Responsibility, Cultural Healing, Creative Expression, and Revolutionary Love. Currently there are 12 adults, two awesomely autistic young adults, three sweet dogs, and 20 laying hens enjoying 7 acres of land together. We range in age from 25-75 and bring our share of diversity: straight, queer and asexual; cis gendered, transgender, non-binary and gender fluid; European American, Mexican American, Korean and Korean American; born into families with and without money. Among us are entrepreneurs, trauma healing counselors, immigrants, activists, students of Chinese medicine and psychology, contractors, poets, writers, avid hikers and backpackers, dance and yoga teachers, caregivers, nonprofit fundraisers, and gardening enthusiasts. We are monogamous and polyamorous, neurotypical and neurodivergent, vegan and omnivorous. We practice diverse spiritual and religious traditions. We share the land with many wild creatures – coyote, deer, owls, hawks – and are surrounded by oaks and redwoods. We’re located just off Soquel Drive by Cabrillo College, minutes from New Brighton State Beach and the Forest of Nisene Marks in Santa Cruz County. What We’re Building We have an outdoor classroom for small-scale events, several permaculture-based food forest orchards and gardens, an infrared sauna, cold plunge, hot tub, and outdoor bathtub overlooking our beautiful meadow. We’re actively working on rainwater catchment systems, humanure composting, water retention landscaping, oak woodland restoration, greywater systems, and dreaming of a cob sauna. Stewarding our ecovillage from vision to reality is a primary focus here. We’re looking for folks who are excited about this in theory AND in real-life practice. Experience and ski
