What we do

Gaia Argentina is a pioneer ecovillage project with permaculture basis, in development since 1996, in a rural area 120km from Buenos Aires. Gaia functions as a living and learning center, and has been sharing information and inspiration for permaculture projects and ecovillage development in the southern region and farther. Over the years of permaculture design gave us a place with a unique scenery of beauty and abundancy, generator of food and other resources. All of this is built around natural houses that give this place a special feeling for its architectonic style based in the harmony of the clay-based forms. To get a better connection between the habitational spaces and nature, Amanecer Condominium is the home of 35 exclusive parcels in a plot of 9 hectares. Here you could join a place with possibilities for people of all ages, enjoying a multigenerational and multicultural environment. The Amanecer Condominium allows the members to generate their own income as it counts with several productive projects, such as: Rent of the auditorium/salon with food service. Guided visits and lunches to the general public. Guided visits for student groups, from elementary school to universities. Courses and seminars. Production of fruits, vegetables, wood, bamboo, wood and seeds. Member will also be able to start new productive or service ventures that they’d like to develop using the facilities and the common zones. Those who use their house for weekends or don’t use them for a period of time, can also rent them, or through our booking central, house students and visitors, earning revenue for this. If your lot holds a hostel apart from the house, this can also join the same booking system. Amanecer produces it’s own electricity through wind turbines and solar panels. Besides of the private plot, members are able to use the next co-ownership places: Auditorium for 130 people with complementary rooms of reception, store, office and kids playroom. Community center with industrial kitchen, dining room for 100 people, pantry and internal storeroom. External storeroom Building and kids playroom Showers with laundry center Sheds and workshops Greenhouse Native species forest, forest of number species and fruit forest. Orchads Irrigation network And several commodities to have lunch/dinner to be in fresh air.
