About the Community

What we do

Earthwalk Sustainable Living Centre developes sustainable living educational experiences. A community of eco-innovators and educators located in eastern Ontario, Earthwalk’s Eco Education Centre’s mission is to raise consciousness about sustainable solutions to our social and environmental issues.   The environmental programs designed for Earthwalk focus on proactive solutions. Through workshops, seminars, courses, and publications Earthwalk’s eco-coaches share information and techniques for healthy and environmentally responsible living.   Designed to facilitate the creation of a new and more sustainable culture, Earthwalk’s educational programs, courses, and hands-on workshops include programs on eco-home design and construction, healthy home solutions, organic food production, natural health strategies and eco-transportation. Earthwalk also offers volunteer educational opportunities.   Earthwalk is also developing and Eco Media Centre to develop both video and online educational projects like Sustainable Living Magazine. We develop affordable sustainability course ware like a complete course in Permaculture available on DVD’s for less than $400.   Earthwalks Eco Enterprise Centre helps members develop and grow green business projects and both provide income and ethical employment.   Earthwalks Eco Development Centre facilitates the design and development of Eco Homes and Eco Villages like Earthworks Eco Village.   Earthwalk has a volunteer program as well for those who want to learn about permaculture and sustainable and healthy living practices.   Earthwalk explores actions we can take today in our own lives–in our homes, our businesses, and our communities to begin the transition to a sustainable future–a future that we all will share.   We are currently looking to expand to a new location. If you know of a local that may be a good fit for a new eco education centre please let us know.
