What we do

We are forming an egalitarian and income sharing community. We are co-creating a culture of social sustainability and harmony that nourishes us as well as the earth. We focus on re-humanizing the scale of our lives. We do that with slower pace, balance in our lives, deep social connection, natural building, education, creativity, and intuitive structure to our time and space.
While we are focused on interpersonal and cultural aspects of our community, we are interested in building small, beautiful, natural housing, doing our best to be ecologically conscious, using new and old technologies, and upholding values of minimalism.
We want to continually learn about what works in community and do our best to integrate our lessons into our lifestyle.
We are planning educational programs in subjects including experiential natural building workshops, off grid technologies, crafts, and nature awareness. We are working on understanding what makes communities thrive through sociological research.

Our Vision

We aspire for a small and stable community with a high level of sharing and connection. We are inspired by the nature around us as we attempt to create human habitat that emulates the beauty and complexity of living systems. We seek to intertwine reason and intuition, aesthetics and efficiency. We are interested in increasing our skills and education through experience, mentorship, sharing and study, and growing as individuals. Within a thriving cluster of neighboring income sharing communities, we are creating a viable, regenerative alternative to the mainstream. We intend to strengthen the relationships between existing communities.

Cohousing ABQ: Life is better together. We're moving in during 2026. Last homes available!

We’ve broken ground on a multigenerational cohousing community along the Rio Grande River in Albuquerque, NM! Our community features 25 beautiful, energy-efficient homes clustered around a shared open space, with a fully equipped common house and a range of community amenities. A few last homes are still available — please refer to our website for up-to-date availability. These homes will be move-in ready in the summer/fall of 2026. Or you might be interested in our Wait Pool for unit sizes no longer available. Click here to watch a video of our cohousing community: https://cohousingabq.org/video Our land is on a quiet road with lots of families and kids. The neighborhood’s agricultural roots give it a rural feel, but the center of town is just a 3-minute drive away. Our community plans include play areas for kids, a shared farming area, a year-round greenhouse, an orchard, a workshop and electric vehicle charging. We are diverse in age, background and identity, representing a mix of families with children, couples and singles. We range in age from 2 to 82, and there are 13 kids in our community so far. We have created a fun, caring culture among our group, regularly getting together for meals, camping trips and play dates by the river, in addition to collaborating on our community plans and supporting one another through life’s ups and downs. In Albuquerque, there’s lots to keep us busy, from museums and galleries to nationally recognized wineries and breweries. With 310 sunny days per year, you can often find us outside—hiking, biking or skiing, or exploring the mountains, parks and historic sites all around the region. The Rio Grande that flows through the city center is a playground for kayakers, and miles of walking and cycling trails wind through its wooded banks. Reach out to us or join an upcoming Meet & Greet to learn more about becoming a part of our community! E

mini community

laundry on site no smoking off-street parking I am looking for someone (or possibly a couple) with construction skills/basic home knowledge (and likes to garden), who can help me transform my property to be more useful…look up “the self-sufficient backyard” online. My husband an I are both 60 but he is on disability-physical pain issues and legally blind the past 4 years. We have an 18 tear old nonverbal DS son, and are both Christians. We need someone who is low-key, has references, a solid work ethic and transportation…excess belongings will require storage. The house is old and needs to have a few issues fixed. There is a room available while a tiny house/livable shed you would build to stay in is done but you would have use of the house kitchen and bathroom. I will want to add more small buildings (as can fit) and greenhouses to share produce with each other, the town and for sale. I would be paying for the materials of coarse but I want to be frugal and look for stuff at re-use it centers and design to best usage. The town is within 30-40 minutes of Salina/McPherson/Hutchinson that have more employment opportunities if you are someone from out of the area. I will explain more details to a seriously interested party. This is for someone who needs to cut expenses and/or use his or her skills to barter for a place to live, possibly some food, and nothing else, (like anything sexual)…I found I needed to make that clear! Other options can be discussed such as co-ownership or???.
