What we do

We are a cooperative spiritual community based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, founded by his direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda. All residents are disciples of Yogananda, and follow the path of Kriya yoga. Our lives center on joyful service and meditation. Visitors are welcome, and those interested in exploring our path and community life can apply to participate in our Karma Yoga service program at http://www.expandinglight.org/karma-yoga/.

We have Living Wisdom Schools from pre-K(http://www.livingwisdom.org/) through College (http://www.anandauniversity.org/index.php), based on the “Education for Life” philosophy. We also run Crystal Clarity Publishers (http://www.crystalclarity.com/) and The Expanding Light Yoga and Meditation Retreat (http://www.expandinglight.org/index.php), and offer Ananda’s teachings worldwide, through centers, meditation groups and www.ananda.org.
