560 Art Collective is a long-standing anarchist artist collective based in the historic Westcott Neighborhood of Syracuse, NY. Many different people have called 560 their home in its 20 years of life as a collective; you’d be hard-pressed not to find a stranger who has their own story about the place. And in that way, 560 has always had the power to turn strangers into friends. From weekly potlucks to basement shows, couch surfers to activists, there aren’t many lives that Five-Sixty hasn’t lived.
Currently, 560 Art Collective is focused on art, creativity, and expression, emphasizing our roles outside of and in opposition to capitalism, and our commitments to our communities. In a world that threatens queer lives, we are invested in cultivating safe, stable spaces and living for queer people, and celebrating our joy as resistance. Everyone has a story to tell and 560 is about exploring the capacity for love and intentional living in all of us.

People interested in becoming a member can reach out and schedule a house tour with us, where we can meet you and you can meet us (and the house)! Then we can follow up with a more intensive interview and exchange questions with you about what you’re looking for, your experiences with collective living, and if 560 would be a good fit for you. During the interview, we also ask for three character references to contact. Once we can contact your references, review your interview as a house, and all current house members have met you, we hold a consensus vote. The average membership approval time is 4-8 weeks.
Visitors can contact us by e-mail to schedule a time to visit or ask about upcoming open-invitation events!
