What we do

A community life project

Mundo Alto aims to create a community life through the creation of an EcoVillage. This means a group of people/families living on the same land and sharing values and efforts.

Above all, collective life seeks to share human values such as solidarity, construction and exchange of knowledge, mutual support, tolerance. In this way, it aims to deconstruct capitalist and individualist life models, promoting sharing and co-construction, creating something together with others, the result of authentic teamwork where everyone has space to contribute their ideas — a creative, social, and active process.

The project is the dream of a simple life, connected to nature. Return to the roots, cultivate and eat from the land, drink water from the river and work with meaning and respect. Respect for oneself, one’s rhythm, one’s deep needs and respect for nature, treating it with love in an exchange of positive energies.
I’m Laurène, French by roots and Latin in my heart for 15 years. I fell in love with this land and since 2024 I fulfilled the dream and took the challenge of being the guardian of this place in the Sierra Nevada. We are located above Minca, in the heights at 1400 meters (near the “Escudo”). The land has 27 hectares and has 2 streams, several waterfalls and wells, paddocks and forest. There is an organic vegetable garden, coffee plantation, bananas and fruit trees. Animals are on site: mule, dogs, cat and chickens.

The project simply aims to live better and more meaningful. To this end, it is a matter of detaching oneself from dependence on the economic system by aiming at greater food, material and energy autonomy. And as we know, together we go further! So also the project aims to build a human community, where effort and values come together to achieve those goals.

Each family unit has its own home in defined areas of the land, but participates in community life by contributing their effort in tasks and shared expenses. For example, in maintaining a common house where tools and shared appliances are located (kitchen, refrigerators, construction and gardening tools, etc.); as well as in participating in growing vegetables, raising animals, etc. This way of life also allows sharing common expenses such as internet, taxes, materials to fence the property, … and joining efforts in labor for cleaning and repairing common paths, property boundaries, fences, etc.

As a legal entity, Mundo Alto SAS is the owner of the land, in order to allow for the economic and effective participation of incoming members in the community. After a one-year integration process, governed by community rules and agreements, each person/family will have the possibility to integrate financially into the project by purchasing shares and becoming co-owners of the land, as well as active members with decision-making power in the community.

Our Vision

Ecological focus: return to the roots, simple living close to nature, respect for the Earth, moving toward food autonomy, energy self-sufficiency, environmental preservation and education.

Human focus: independent solidarity. Sharing a space in the heart of nature and taking care of it together. Mutual support, kindness, empathy. Each household is free and independent, yet connected to the community through the management of collective resources (vegetable garden, animals, tools, common spaces, etc.).
