Dabbler Farm is a 3 acre organic farm in Benton County, Oregon in the heart of the Willamette Valley. The farm sits in a green well watered valley in the foothills of the Pacific Coast Mountains. The farm is operational and growing. Currently it houses vegetable production, orchards, a pond, grazing fields, chickens, rabbits, and hydroponics. We are currently expanding into sheep and goats.
We are located in the County near the city limits of Corvallis which provides access to markets, employment opportunities, and proximity to Oregon Statue University. OSU is a world leader in research on sustainable agriculture and responses to climate change.
Our methods are a combination of traditional no till farming methods amplified and combined with modern approaches and research. Our aim is to create a sustainable form of agriculture that can meet, as much as possible, the food needs of the small community engaging the farm. The farm serves as a test and experimental station on methods for growing vegetables in small spaces that can be replicated on home or urban scale. Similar operations are sometimes identified as homesteading or permaculture and we share many values with those communities.

Candidate members will live on the farm as tenants/renters for an extended trial period. New residents must coordinate the funding for new housing and help shepherd the permitting process. Candidates will be required to live on the property for at least 6 months prior to beginning construction likely in a trailer or mobile home Upon vote by existing members, candidates can be added to the community and will take on the shared burden of ownership via a co-op.
One should submit a letter of interesting explaining who they are and what they are looking for in a community. As additional housing must be permitted and built, one should indicate their funding source. Prior and during constructs, an RV pad with water and electric hookups can be provided (2 total). Sewer hookups not available, but might be able to dump in current septic system.
