What we do

Our non-profit association, Kirin, was founded on the initiative of people who want to build a new model of informal education, to support people to become resourceful and independent, ecologically aware and philanthropically active.
The mission of our association is to make a change in people’s life and attitude, to encourage their awareness and participation in ecological living, communitarian spirit, animal welfare, philanthropic work and personal and spiritual development.

We focus on constant development through innovative and unconventional methods of work and learning.
We know that through education, self-development and cooperation we can change our fate and the fate of many others. By doing so, one day we will wake up in a better world, where no one is used, unfairly treated, excluded or worse.

We organize various informal activities such as: philosophy and psychology lessons, small conferences, workshops, language learning classes, sport classes, meditation classes, martial arts and Tai chi.

We are a unique place, where extraordinary things happen. We inspire and help in many ways and in different fields. Among our achievements there are programs and actions that helped hundreds of people and animals. We encourage people to help others: a philanthropy based not only on giving money or offering ready-to-go solutions, but rather getting to the root of the problems, deepening our understanding of social structures and human behaviour, with the aim of improving attitudes and finding new, creative ways for a better long-term evolution.

We focus with expertise on physical and psychological health and wellbeing, to the point that we are able to stimulate incredible transformations in the people who wish to improve their life.

The way we work
A future for our humanity means starting to collaborate in different ways. The culture of consumerism, selfishness and separation is bringing us and our planet to self destruction.
In our spirit, our volunteers and members work with flexibility to do what’s right for themselves, the community we are a part of and for the planet.

What sets us apart
If we are to leave the world better off than we have found it, we can’t underestimate the power of the individual: we need to raise our awareness, re-educate ourselves and spread ideas for a positive change in people’s attitude and culture. With our work we have the opportunity to unite people to practice goodness and contribute to a better humanity.

Our Place
Our beautiful location in a quiet village surrounded by the forest is perfect for nature and animal lovers. If you are looking for peace and to escape the stresses of the city, our place will give you the peace and harmony you are looking for.
We are located just outside the big city of Poznań (in the west of Poland) and only two hours from Germany, which you can easily reach by train and Flixbus for a weekend visit.

Our Vision

Every living creature deserves respect and a dignified life.
Kirin gives new opportunities to people and animals.
We host people who want to learn new skills, live a sustainable life and contribute to a good cause.
We help hundreds of animals: our place is home to a little sanctuary for rescue animals who were abandoned, mistreated or used as objects.
Every day we fight these injustices and contribute to a better humanity.

Oak Park Commons Cohousing – Plan to Move in Fall 2025

Illinois’ first cohousing community fosters intergenerational connection, diversity, and inclusiveness. We welcome all those who share our vision of creating a sustainable residential community in a vibrant urban suburb. Oak Park Commons Cohousing seeks new members. Join the dozen households that have already helped plan and design a five story, 24-unit building near the commercial heart of Oak Park, Illinois. The building includes a mix of one, two, and three, bedroom ADA accessible units. A package friendly first floor mailroom adjoins the lobby, elevator, and parking entrances. Noise mitigation and energy efficient air conditioning assure year-round comfort. The Carpenter & Madison streets corner location includes within a pedestrian friendly half mile radius: a middle school, bus stop, grocery co-op, drug store, bank, CTA train station, Unity Temple, Rush Hospital, Fox Park, Mills Park, and many restaurants. Madison has traffic calming and bike lanes. The Village commercial center, barely a mile away offers the Lake Theatre Cinema, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Formula Fitness Center, Public Library, Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio, and specialty retail and service shops. Oak Park includes excellent K-12 schools. Lincoln public elementary school offers an optional Spanish bilingual program, Gwendolyn Brooks middle school’s wonderful performing arts opportunities and OPRF high school’s great college and career prep. Eight two and three bedroom units are still available for purchase starting at $406,640. Buyers pay a five percent earnest fee when signing a purchase agreement that goes toward down payment at closing. Units available for occupancy starting the last week of October 2025.
