About the Community

What we do

Hello Intentional Communities explorer.

Casa de Coral Vine, an intentional household of three people, has one of our three housemates moving in mid-October.  So a wonderful space in our house is opening up November 1!

The large Live Oak room has a private bathroom en suite, a walk-in closet, and French doors that open onto the garden.  The rent is $1,150 – all bills included – with a lease from November 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026. The Lease end date is negotiable.

Casa del Coral Vine is located close to the East 11st Street dining and entertainment district, downtown Austin, the state Capitol, the University of Texas, Huston-Tillotson University. The house is on a cul de sac,  a short bike ride to Lady Bird Lake and other hike and bike trails.  Kayaking on Town Lake or swimming at Beautiful Barton Springs or Deep Eddy natural water swimming pools are also healthy, happy options.

Amenities in the house include a dishwasher, utility room with a clothes washer-dryer and an optional clothesline, high-speed internet, a big dining room table for meals or activities, and a large screen TV for movie nights.  The yard has beautiful native wildlife/pollinator gardens, veggie beds, a large Cedar Elm, Live Oak, and a fruit-bearing Fig tree, a Champenelle grape vine, and a Chili pequin bush.  The cul de sac is a large park-like, green space for short walks or meditation, and one of us is active at a neighborhood garden a few streets away.

To apply, email [email protected] with subject line Room at Casa de Coral Vine. Request an application.

We’re looking for a housemate who likes the idea of or has practiced intentional living and has some skills or positive experience in community-building. These are the qualities we’re looking for…

Self awareness, self compassion, self care
Positive, friendly communication skills
Dedication to a Bi-Weekly or Monthly Community Dinner for fun, to inspire and support each other, and to decide about how we want to take care of the shared spaces
Environmentally-Conscious, Sustainable Lifestyle
Mutual respect for quiet time
Healthy eating habits would be a big bonus!

Artists, gardeners, scholars, social and environmental justice activists or professionals, people of color, LGBTQ folks, vegetarians, vegans are especially welcome and encouraged.

Folks with cooperative living experience or willingness to try something new will be a great fit. We create an affirming balance of positive communication, mutual support, love, and respect for quiet time and personal space.

If you are further interested in developing co-ownership in the land and structure or are interested in building in downtown Austin, there is a small piece of land available for purchase or land-lease next to the house that is part of this property.

There is also a large costly piece of land currently for sale adjacent to the west of the back of the house.  I welcome interested intentional community visionaries to contact us to discuss the possibilities.

Email [email protected].

Thank you!  Donna
