What we do

Flagstaff is an amazingly connected and welcoming university town, located at 7,000 feet of elevation in northern Arizona. It’s easy to connect with people of all interests here, and the surrounding forest keeps us engaged with nature in our 4-season climate. Our small group has been working to create a cohousing community here for several years. We value inclusiveness, sustainability, and making a difference in our world. Our intention has always been to create an interpersonal community first, followed by the development of the physical community.

The challenges of Covid and of finding suitable land have slowed our progress in making the physical community a reality, but we’ve created and strengthened relationships, learned a lot about cohousing, and have recently identified a location on which we might potentially build 30 to 36 units. We’re currently working with a cohousing architect to prepare a preliminary outline to present to the city for rezoning, and we expect that by late August or early September, 2021, we’ll know whether rezoning is a possibility or whether we need to go back to the drawing board.

We welcome inquiries from families and individuals of all ages and backgrounds to join your passion and energy to ours to make our community a reality!

Our Vision

We are creating a multigenerational intentional community that nourishes body and soul and celebrates our diversities and life experiences. We embrace living sustainably on the earth, creating a beautiful, joyful and peaceful place to live, continuing to grow, and responsibly honoring our commitment to each other. We are committed to establishing a workable balance between having private lives, doing our share for our community and reaching out to the wider Flagstaff area.
