“Komaja” means “radiant love.” It describes a spiritual-philosophical system, as well as an international spiritual community, founded in 1978 by the well-known tantric master Aba Aziz Makaja. Komaja offers a deep and nondogmatic access to spirituality with a complete system of spiritual schooling.
Komaja is a specific form of tantric kundalini yoga, developed by Makaja who, as spiritual master, is at the core of Komaja’s life and its development. Knowledge is Komaja’s connecting spiritual thread, radiant love its principal virtue. The seven main activities of the community are meditation, theoretical studies, development of community consciousness, karma yoga, spiritualization of sexuality (via asceticism or by being sexually active; original methods of realization are given for both paths), spiritual singing, and spiritual sport.
Today Komaja has more than 300 members and many friends who draw inspiration from its model of living. They live all over Europe, Australia, and in North America. Makaja and his community are socially involved in many countries, with humanitarian and ecological activities, scientific and educational/therapeutical activities, etc. Komaja is member of the World Association for Sexology; Komaja’s Love-Erotic Therapy (LET), for overcoming different kinds of addictions, is privately and state financed. Komaja is an example of how new forms of intimate relationships can be lived successfully: many people practice the zajedna, an original form of polyamory.
