Living and working together in the community project Schloss Glarisegg, is a living example of cultural development.
From this, the Academy for Community Education was founded in 2023. Its mission is to make what has been learned from the project development since 2003, with a focus on relationship and communication culture, accessible to a wide audience.
The Academy for Community Building offers various formats. The time span varies from one day to several weeks.

Circle culture: Communication in the circle is the basis of our work and decision-making. Authentic exchange with the other person and a mediating attitude in case of conflicts is the basis of our togetherness.
Creativity and spirituality: Creative expression and artistic design are for us gateways to healing, inspiring experience of our potential. Playful togetherness, heart-opening and truthful being are ways of our lived spirituality in everyday life.
Peace and ecology: We treat our inner and outer resources with respect. We think and act sustainably and responsibly towards future generations.
Community Learning Environment: We explore community as an innovative and tolerant growth space for ourselves and the people who live with us. We welcome all people regardless of their spiritual path or culture. We network with initiatives and centers that support our vision and whose vision we share.
In 2009 the association Gemeinschaft Schloss Glarisegg was founded.
Members 01/2023: 37 adults and 20 children.
Drive & Motivation
We believe that the value of practicing “community building” will be widely recognized in the near future. As the world changes due to climate change, war and health crises, it is becoming clear that the ability to engage in authentic relationships in everyday life is an important foundation for peaceful coexistence. Community building also means valuing differences as a perspective of the greater whole.
Intelligent technologies make our lives easier in many ways, but they can neither make us community-minded nor prevent climate catastrophe. Sitting in front of a screen is one thing, looking a person in the eye is another.
In order to rely on ourselves and others, we need to recognize ourselves. “Who am I, how do I function, what are my competencies?” In doing so, we empower ourselves to make the best decisions for ourselves, our families and the big picture. And we learn ourselves to healthily and critically question our world and, by extension, media content.

You get to know the community by joining guided tours, garden days, introduction weekend and/or an intensive community building week
After this phase you can apply to have a 3 week trial living with us, write a letter of motivation und get afterwards invited for an “introduction evening”, if there is a big resonance in the community.
Then the community decides if you can join the outer circle and live on our property for at least a year.
In this phase some day the mystery of being integrated into the inner circle organically happens (or not), and the community recognizes you are part of the inner circle, this will be confirmed by a ritual. Latest after 2 years, in case the community does not see you as part of the inner circle yet, there might be a decision made that you would leave the community.
We offer introduction weekends 3 times a year.
