A Compassionate Approach to Conflict — NVC Training

REGISTER NOW

Join Jenna Card for a two-hour virtual workshop to learn how to work through conflict using Nonviolent Communication.

We’ll develop skills to gracefully and powerfully navigate challenging situations, which is essential for one’s well-being, healthy relationships, and healthy communities.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) asserts that our every action is an attempt to satisfy, consciously or unconsciously, an important internal value or need. How would our response to conflict change if we were able to see the behaviors that create conflict as someone’s ineffective (or sometimes harmful) attempt to meet needs? When we move beyond judging and blaming to see a shared humanity underneath the offending actions or words, we can begin to transform conflict with compassion.

Based on the principles and consciousness of NVC, plus illuminating brain science and practical exercises, together we will explore bringing a deeper understanding of conflict and how to bring a more compassionate, life-serving approach to addressing conflict.

Key outcomes of this workshop:

  • Better understand conflict in your life
  • Unpack your habitual ways of responding
  • Learn strategies for maintaining our “cool” when things get tense
  • Explore skills for responding to conflict with more grace & efficacy

Loved by Community Builders

What a beautiful gift to our intentional community builders and leaders! FIC’s programs provide a way for thinking and concerned people to collaborate for solutions to our multitude of global crises. Thank you FIC! – Terri Garcia

I am constantly impressed by the down-to-earth practicality of the FIC workshops combined with the philosophical questions that are so vital for us to explore. I’m grateful for the excellent planning and delivery of the workshops by skilled and inclusive presenters, who create a space that is both welcoming and invites participants to challenge existing ideas and world views. Well done and thank you FIC. – Claire Ogden
